Contest for Female Filmmakers

Ever dream of capturing the spirit of independence and freedom of the open road on film?

Harley-Davidson is searching for female film makers who can capture the sense of empowerment, freedom and adventure that is inherent when women get behind the handlebars of their very own Harley-Davidson® motorcycle, in a short film.

The winning film maker will receive:

  • $5,000 cash for her next project
  • A new high definition video camera
  • A Harley-Davidson® leather jacket
  • The opportunity to attend and profile her film at a premiere party in Los Angeles

Film submissions must be postmarked by Tuesday, September 30, 2008.

Check out this short film on Harley-Davidson's livingbyit.com. It's an inside look at living outside the norm. ( "We don't care what anyone else believes" ) They also posted info about the riders in the film, screen savers and more. Duration: 02:30 , black and white. It looks great full screen/high bandwidth at their site.

PLUS they actually have women riders and queers in the film!! Now that's pretty darn cool ---

Harley has finally put together a Women in Motorcycling Website. Not a great deal of depth or content, but it's a good start.

The website has some interesting sections like Women Riders Making Headlines, an interactive Riding Stories (where you can contribute), and a History of Female Riders section, which we also have here! Worth a look.
